Stress Management
What is Stress?
Stress is the daily wear and tear we experience due to changing conditions in our environment and lives. The impact of stress can be either negative or positive. Positive stress can invoke a feeling of purpose and determination. A feeling to overcome a challenge that we may be facing. Negative stress from changing environments, challenges in life, and unexpected obstacles can have adverse feelings of rejection, depression, anger, and mistrust. Negative stress may lead to health issues such as:
- headaches
- upset stomach
- heart disease
- rashes
- insomnia
- ulcers
- high blood pressure
- stroke
Optimal Stress Level
There is no optimal stress level because no two people view and react to situations similarly. What may be stress to you may be pleasant and motivating to someone else. Even if both parties agreed that a situation is negatively stressful, your reactions both physically and physiologically would differ completely.
